Insurance

Insurance

Swanson Dentistry accepts all dental insurance plans outside the TennCare and Medicare programs. As a service to you, we file your claims and help you receive your due benefits. In return, we ask you to pay your estimated portion at the time of service, and any remaining balance after the insurance company has paid the portion they are obligated to pay.

Please be sure and bring your insurance card with you when you come for an appointment.

Know Your Policy

Your insurance plan is unique to you and your insurance company; therefore, prior to your appointment, it is important that you contact your dental insurance company and discuss with them your policy and your benefits in relation to our office.

Dental benefits can often vary from office to office, so be sure and tell your company that you are planning to visit our office so the benefits they quote to you are correct. If you need help obtaining this information, please contact us and we will assist you.

We are preferred providers in BlueCross BlueShield, MetLife, and Delta Dental. Please be aware of the fact that benefits differences between in-network and out-of-network can often be none to very little.  Always call and talk with your insurance company about these types of comparisons or ask us to call for you.

Know Your Benefits

Dental Insurance rarely pays all of your dental expenses, so you need to be familiar with your benefits in order to be accurately prepared for the amounts you will have to personally pay. Call your dental insurance company and discuss with them the parameters of your coverage, specifically in reference to our office. Remember benefits can vary from office to office depending on how your policy is written.

It is also important for you to know your annual maximum amount, your frequency restrictions on certain procedures, any waiting periods, and any exclusions. We always ask that you pay your estimated personal portion at the time you have service rendered. We will do everything possible to assist you in determining your estimated portion, but we cannot  promise that our estimates are accurate due to the huge variety in dental benefit policies, waivers, and exclusions.

Understand Our Role

Your dental insurance policy is an agreement between you, your insurance company, and frequently your employer. Our office is not privy to this policy or agreement, which often restricts our ability to know all the details of your policy. We will attempt to give you accurate estimates of payment, but please know that these are only estimates and can change due to the complexity of insurance benefits.  At your initial appointment, please bring with you a copy of your insurance card and any benefit information you have.  If we have this information, we can more accurately estimate the portion that you can anticipate receiving from your dental benefit company.
